Gift to Education
Albany
Council 173 recently awarded gifts to five Catholic Elementary Schools in the
City of Albany as part of its continuing effort to support Catholic Education.
This marks the ninth consecutive year awards were made and reflects a doubling
of the amount given in the initial four years. These awards are intended to
support or enhance programs not fully covered in the annual budget of these
schools. Timed to occur close to Catholic Schools Week each award consisted of a
check for $1,000. Grand Knight J. Richard Adair reports that in addition to
these annual awards Albany Council 173 stands ready to assist in other forms
that aid the educational programs.
Pictured at the award presentation are school principals
Sister Mary Ellen Owens, RSM of Holy Cross School; Sister Mary Patricia
